Baku Homes Privacy Policy
This Policy
This privacy policy applies to the management of your personal information (PI) by or on behalf of Baku Homes (we, us, our).
What PI do we collect?
We collect and hold PI such as your name, date of birth, phone number, email, IP address, and home address. We may also collect financial information, including details about your income, bank(s), or financial circumstances.
How we collect your PI
We collect your PI during the course of offering or providing our products or services. This includes when you provide us your PI via our website, at our display centres, during phone calls, or when you make customer enquiries. Generally, we collect your PI directly from you but may also collect your PI from other people or organisations if you have given consent for them to do so.
Why do we need your PI?
We only collect or hold PI where it is reasonably necessary for our business functions or activities. In particular, we need your PI to provide you with our products and/or services, communicate with you (including by direct marketing), create or update our database(s), internal record-keeping, obtain and assess feedback, ensure compliance with our contractual and legal obligations, train our staff, improve customer service, and to otherwise administer our relationship with you (Main Purposes).
Consent to our use and disclosure of your PI
By using our products or services, or contacting us by any means, you consent to us using or disclosing your PI for:
- the Main Purposes;
- any purpose related to the Main Purposes that could be reasonably anticipated at the time PI was collected (Secondary Purpose);
- any purpose to which you otherwise consent (including as disclosed to you in an information collection statement at the point where we collect your PI); and
- any other purpose required or authorised by law (including Australian Privacy Laws).
Our call centre may record telephone calls for the Main Purposes. You will be notified if a call is recorded and may opt-out of the recording. Continuing the call indicates your consent.
If you do not consent to our collection and use of your PI, we may be unable to provide some or all of our products or services or continue any ongoing contract or projects with you.
Secondary Purposes may include improving our products or services, sending you marketing communications, conducting surveys, managing our relationship with you, monitoring interactions on our website or contact points, and assisting with activities you undertake.
We may also use non-personally identifiable information such as anonymous usage data and IP addresses to improve our products and services.
Can you remain anonymous or use a pseudonym?
Where practicable, you may use a pseudonym or remain anonymous unless impractical or prohibited by law.
What disclosures will we make?
We may disclose your PI to partners, suppliers, and distributors to help provide our products and services. Some service providers may be overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure data security compliance and by providing your PI you consent to this overseas disclosure.
Is your PI confidential and secure?
We take reasonable steps to keep your PI secure and protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorized access, or disclosure. PI may be held in secure electronic or hard copy forms accessible only to authorized personnel.
